VenaCure EVLT (Laser Ablation) in Jersey City, NJ
Dr. Zbigniew Moszczynski is a board-certified general surgeon and phlebologist, and the founder of Vein and Skin Studio. He is proud to offer VenaCure EVLT™ for people living in Bayonne and the neighboring towns in New Jersey. This cutting-edge treatment helps eliminate uncomfortable and unsightly varicose veins.
What is VenaCure EVLT™?
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT™) is a process that utilizes laser light energy in the treatment of varicose veins. This medical laser delivers highly concentrated light energy into the treatment area with exact precision, without damaging any of the surrounding tissue.
VenaCure EVLT™ involves the insertion of a thin fiber into the damaged vein via a tiny skin incision. This fiber delivers a precise amount of laser light energy into the affected area. The veins react to this laser light by closing and sealing shut. The closed veins are only superficial veins that deliver under five percent of the body’s total blood flow. This blood is then re-routed by the body to healthy veins.
Lasers have been found to be extremely safe and effective in many types of medical procedures, from dermatology to eye surgery. Laser procedures also have the advantage of causing far fewer complications than traditional surgery.
Does VenaCure EVLT™ Treatment Require any Downtime?
Little to no pain is caused by EVLT™, and patients can normally resume their daily activities immediately after treatment.
How Does VenaCure EVLT™ Treatment Work?
Dr. Moszczynski will begin by mapping out your veins using ultrasound. Only a local anesthetic is required. The next step is the insertion of a thin laser fiber into a tiny incision near the knee. The affected vein will then receive targeted laser light energy.
Is VenaCure EVLT™ Safe?
Yes. The VenaCure EVLT™ process may result in some minor bruising that typically fades within a few weeks. Some patients may experience a sensation of tightness that may last up to one week following their treatment. This is a normal part of the treatment and is to be expected.
What Makes VenaCure EVLT™ Superior To Other Treatments?
The treatment is performed using only a local anesthetic and typically lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Patients can resume their normal tasks the same day as their treatment. The leg may be bandaged or wrapped in a stocking for about one week. EVLT™ is a treatment that is considered very safe and effective, and is usually pain-free.
How Does VenaCure EVLT™ Feel?
Minimal discomfort is involved with this procedure. Some minor bruising, redness, or soreness may occur. If the patient experiences post-operative discomfort, an over-the-counter pain reliever should alleviate this. Aspirin use is restricted because it is a blood thinner that can interfere with wound healing.
Treatment Preparations for VenaCure EVLT™
Patients are advised to stop taking some medication, including blood thinners for a few days before their treatment. Moisturizers sunscreen, lotions, or oil should not be applied to the legs on the day of treatment.
Post-Treatment Instructions for VenaCure EVLT™
Patients are encouraged to walk immediately after their treatment to generate circulation. They may resume their normal activities, with the exception of vigorous physical exercise.
How much does VenaCure EVLT™ Treatment Cost?
The cost depends upon the extent of the procedure in each individual case. Vein and Skin Studio offers a variety of payment options, including cash, personal checks, and credit cards. CareCredit® is a method of financing that is also available to our patients.
